Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III lauds the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA) for its outstanding performance at the recently concluded November 2018 Aeronautical Engineer Licensure Examination.

Officials from the Philippine Air Force and Philippine State College of Aeronautics paid a courtesy visit with CHED Chairman Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), PhilSCA’s Zandor Deogenes Malazarte Ajoc topped the licensure exam with a rating of 90.60%. Seven other graduates from the aviation state college made it to the top 10, while two graduates from Holy Angel University (HAU) – Angeles City and a graduate from PATTS College of Aeronautics – Paranaque City complete this year’s top-notchers. A total of 185 out of 361 takers passed the exam.

“This recent achievement of PhilSCA in the Aeronautical Engineer Board exam is an indication that our State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) produce graduates that are exceptional. PhilSCA has been topping the Board exam four years in a row,” conveyed the CHED Chair.

Chairman De Vera further explained that, “The passage of Republic Act 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act paved the way for government to attract the best students and produce aeronautical engineers that are vital to national development.”

“The law will continue to ensure that SUCs provide not only access and equity, but offer quality education to all deserving students,” ends Chair De Vera.

Dr. De Vera is currently serving the Philippine Air Force (PAF) with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the reserve force and a member of PAF Multi-sectoral Governance Council that helps the PAF in its Flight Plan 2028.
