It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at CHED.
During the CHED Central Office flag raising on December 3, Chairman J. Prospero E. De Vera III challenged the community to spruce up their office entrances and come up with the most creative and wonderful Christmas displays using only light materials and at the least possible cost.
Following the theme, “Unity in Diversity towards Peace and Harmony in this Season of Love,” the contest aims to display the artistic talents of the CHED employees and staff, send the message of peace and harmony and give warmth and cheer this holiday season.
The winning offices were judged by the Chair and Commissioners Lilian A. de las Lllagas, Ronald A. Adamat, Perfecto A. Alibin and were announced by Chair De Vera during the CHED General Assembly and Christmas Party on December 14, held at the CHED Auditorium.
First Place – Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance
Second Place – Philippine California Advanced Research Institute
Third Place – Administrative, Financial and Management Service
To showcase unity in diversity, the General Assembly and Christmas Party featured the colors, designs, sights and sounds of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. There were contests for the best in memorabilia booth, games and whole lot of dancing.
Best memorabilia booth – 90s group (OPRKM, AFMS, IAS, OCC)
Best in costume – 60s group (LLS, PCARI, OPSD, UniFAST)
Best in mob dance – 80s group (OSDS, CHED-MiMaRoPa, CHED-NCR, K TO 12)
Best in games – 70s group (HEDF, CHEDRO IV, OICAG, LEB, EO)
The event would not be complete without raffle prizes and special intermission numbers by talented CHED employees Renz Tibigar and Martin Cruz, with the special participation of up-and-coming a capella group Sayil.
